The small port of Agia Efimia is on the east coast of Kefalonia, 10 kilometres north of Sami.
A waterfront of bars, shops and tavernas leads to a coastline of small bays with pretty beaches, fringed by olive groves. Busy with visiting yachts in the high summer months, Agia Efimia is small enough to avoid the crowds and large enough to provide varied dining and shopping.
Just under two kilometres inland from the port, on a hillside overlooking the port, Villa Alana is next door to Villa Selena and has dramatic views of the surrounding valley and across the rooftops of the port to the open sea towards Ithaca.
The walk from the villa to Agia Efimia’s waterfront takes you down a valley of olive groves and pastures for grazing goats.
As the sun sets behind the villa the cliffs of Ithaca’s west coast turn pink.

Location: car hire recommended. Megiovouno Taverna is just 50 metres away. There are a few beaches just north of the port and south there are a string of beaches, framed by olive groves, on the way to Sami. Boat hire is available from the port to explore the coastline. The waterfront and side streets have a good selection of shops, minimarkets, tavernas, bakeries and café bars. Fresh fish can be bought from the fishermen on the waterfront. Myrtos beach is 8 kilometres away. The airport is 40 kilometres.
Accommodation: ground floor of an open-plan sitting room (with double sofa bed), dining area and kitchen; games room. First floor of one twin bedroom (can convert to a double), kitchenette and en suite shower room. Second floor with one double bedroom and en suite shower room.

The prices quoted are for 2 persons staying for 1 week. For an occupancy of 3 - 6 persons, there is a supplement of £130 per week for each extra person.
The owner asks for a refundable security deposit equivalent to 25% of the rental cost.
