Irini
The Greek word "Irini" means "Peace". With large private grounds on Paxos' west coast, above the ancient Mouzmouli water cistern and surrounded by a natural landscape of cypress, olive and pine trees, Villa Irini is all about peace, calm, comfort and escape.
The west coast of Paxos has diverse views, all of which are dramatic. From the swimming pool terrace one looks along the coast of swirling rock formations and across the sea to the tip of AntiPaxos. From all the private terraces there is a theatre of big, uninterrupted, panoramic views out to sea and inland across valleys of olive groves to the hilltop bell tower of Agios Haralambos. Sunsets are magnificent.
Irini plays to the senses with a softness found in her curving walls of stone, smooth terraces bordered by sculptured, scented shrubs and her natural views over gently swaying, silver leaves of olives and "at attention" cypresses.
Irini has two swimming pools: one positioned like a moat to the villa and the other (larger) with wide sun terraces and infinity views.
Below the villa is a small creek with bathing rocks. A pathway leads to the creek – a walk of 10 minutes. Avlaki beach is a walk of 15 minutes.
Ireni does not compromise. Spacious and comfortable interiors open out on to spacious and comfortable exteriors. A special escape from the crowds.

Location: car hire recommended. The villa is reached via a bumpy track of ½ kilometre from the tiny village of Velianitatika, which has a supermarket and just outside the village, a local taverna. Gaios is a 5 minute drive. The surrounding area contains many ancient pathways for west coast walks through olive groves.
Accommodation: ground floor of a sitting room; kitchen and dining area; three double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom; utility room with washing machine; cloakroom. Staircase to master double bedroom and en suite bathroom.
